Smart Board

Senteo -->
All classrooms should have a smart board because it can help people pay more attention to the lesson because it’s more exciting then someone just explaining it. Even i think sometimes that it can be boring when someone’s just explaining. When we did Novel Studies, we divided into two teams and we would play like we were on a game show. We did that for 1 chapter. The Senteos were so fun, i hate writing tests, but this was actually fun. It’s easier to do PowerPoint presentations because you just have to press the screen and stay up at the front. Attendance was fun too.. We had these little squares that had everyone’s name on it. If you were here you would click your name and it would turn grey, and if you weren’t here it would just stay blue. We didn’t do it much though because sometimes the student that would be in charge of it would forget. It would sometimes be so crowded and everybody would have to do it one at a time or your square wouldn’t change color. It was still fun though. Also when we did spelling we would just look off of there instead of wasting paper.

A watershed I live close to is Regina Beach. It is called Long Lake. Watersheds collect snow and water. It carries water after the snow melts and rain falls. In Saskatchewan, there are 13 major watersheds. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Water is important to me because on a hot summer day it keeps me refreshed, so that I
can have fun and be active. If I do not drink water, I will get dehydrated. Water also washes my eating utensils, so I will not get germs. Every living thing needs water to live!

What and who needs water? Of course, humans need water! We need it to wash our clothes, keep clean, and stay refreshed. Animals need it to drink and live, too. The environment also needs water. If you don’t water your plants or flowers they won’t live anymore. Our clothes don’t need water to live, because they don’t live anyways, but in order for us to stay clean and not stink, our clothes need to stay clean, too.

I can protect my drinking and cleaning water by putting a fence around it. I could put a “Hands Off!” or “Keep Out!” sign on the fence. That would tell people that they aren’t allowed to go there. I could also get a close friend or family member that I trust and ask them if they could watch my water for me, or I could guard it myself. Those are some ways I could protect my water. Water is a very important thing in everybody’s life.

My Christmas Holiday '08

On Christmas day we got out of bed at about 8:50am. We got our clothes to change into later. We were going to my Auntie’s and Uncle’s house on my Dad’s side in our pyjamas. We left the house at about 9:50am. We arrived at their house at 10:10am. Dad wasn’t there yet so we had to wait thirty more minutes. We always start by seeing what’s in our stocking. My sister, Cassie, and I always go first. There was lots of stuff in our stockings like socks, pens, candy, etc. We did youngest to oldest so my stepbrother, Dustin, and my cousins Shane, Krista, and Jessica went next. Then Mom, Dad, Auntie Mary Anne, and Uncle Tony got to see what was in their stockings. Lastly Grandma got to see what was in hers. Now comes the funnest part of all! Opening presents! Again it was youngest to oldest, but one present at a time. I got Rockband from Mom, Dad, and Cassie, a Billabong sweater from Auntie Mary Anne, Uncle Tony, and Jessica, light pink LuluLemon headband from Shane and Krista, thirty dollars gift certificate to Southland from Dustin. We opened all our presents from Grandma on Christmas Eve. This part was really fun too! Brunch! There was cinnamon buns made by grandma, something like a cheese, bacon, egg omelet(cooked in a special way), lots of goodies, like fruit and cookies, and fruit punch. After we ate, Krista and Shane had to go to Krista’s family’s house, so they had to leave. Cassie and I brought our Playstation 2 and played the Rockband I got. I played the guitar, Cassie played the drums, and Jessica sang. We took turns playing each instrument. While we were playing Dustin had to go to his house to celebrate Christmas with his mom’s side. We played Rockband for a little while. Then Grandma wanted to play cards, so we played Whist. We played Whist for about 4-5 hours. Then we ate supper. There were cabbage rolls, ranch salad, macaroni salad, and a lot more! Then Cassie and I played Rockband some more. Lastly we sang karaoke, they call it Magic Mic, It’s from the Philippines and it is very popular there too!

This Christmas was really fun, and I can’t wait till next year!
